The Governing Council of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), chaired by Professor Funso Isolaowa Afolabi, has announced the appointments of Mrs. Henrietta Adebola Gbemisola Badejo as the substantive Registrar and Dr. John Olusola Dada as the substantive Bursar.
In a memo issued by the Acting Registrar, Dr. Emmanuel Akinwale, the appointments were confirmed during the council’s meeting on December 10, 2024. Both appointees will assume their roles effective January 2, 2025, for a tenure of five years.
Meet the New Registrar
Mrs. Badejo, a seasoned administrator with over two decades of service at YABATECH, joined the College in 2001 as an Administrative Officer I. Rising through the ranks, she became Deputy Registrar in 2017 and most recently held the position of Deputy Registrar (Rectory), where she oversaw critical administrative functions.
Her academic achievements include:
- Diploma in Computer Science
- Nigerian Certificate in Education (Biology/Geography)
- Bachelor of Science in Education and Geography
- Master of Science in Geography
Mrs. Badejo is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), credentials that underscore her expertise and commitment to professional development.
Meet the New Bursar
Dr. John Olusola Dada is a financial expert with nearly 30 years of experience spanning polytechnics, universities, and the private sector. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and an Associate of both the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of Nigeria (ACIMA), Dr. Dada has built a reputation for excellence in accounting and financial management.
His educational qualifications include:
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy (Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti)
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting (Babcock University)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management (University of Ado Ekiti)
Among his notable achievements at YABATECH are the digitization of the Bursary Department, the maintenance of accurate accounting records, and the successful management of grants such as the $1,000,000 FCDO/UNICEF Girls’ Education and Skills Partnership grant in 2019.

Dr. Akinwale described the appointments as strategic steps to strengthen YABATECH’s administrative and financial frameworks. “The leadership of Mrs. Badejo and Dr. Dada will uphold the College’s core values and foster progress and stability in their respective offices,” he said.
The appointments are expected to further YABATECH’s mission of academic excellence and institutional efficiency, ensuring the institution remains a leader in Nigeria’s higher education landscape.
