The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has again announced a fresh extension of registration for the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.
This is coming days after the initial extension till 9th August elapsed.
In a post on its Twitter handle, the examining body announced that the registration period for the private candidates has been extended to 22nd August, 2019.
The registration for the regular, walk-in-candidates will commence after the period of registration for the private candidates is closed.
EduCeleb.com last week reported that WAEC Nigeria hosted the 37th conference of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA) in Abuja.
While the conference held, delegates resolved on the need to improve in the use of digital technologies for assessment of students and to explore better teaching methods to combat the scourge of examination malpractices.
Also at the conference, the Head of National Office of WAEC Nigeria, Mr Olutise Adenipekun was inaugurated as the new AEAA president. He succeeded Dr Litsabako Ntoi of the Examination Council of Lesotho (ECoL) in that capacity.
