Bagudu pays N668m to WAEC, NECO, NABTEB

The Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has released N668m for the payment of the 2020 public examination.

These sums would go to the West African Examination Council WAEC), the National Examination Council (NECO), the National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) and the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) which all conducted exams for students in the state.

Briefing newsmen at the weekend, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education, Muhammad Bandi Kalgo, said the release of the money covered the four bodies for 2020 exams.

Kalgo said the ministry’s COVID-19 committees are going round the schools to ensure that both teachers and students complied with the COVD-19 safety protocols.

He said the ministry is also working hard to improve the teaching standards of the teachers and make them to be the best in the country.

He also commended the Federal Government for increasing the remuneration of teachers and the retirement age, adding that this will bring sanity to the country’s education system.
