As Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) prepares to begin admissions for the 2024/2025 academic session, the institution has issued a stern warning to prospective students and their parents against falling victim to admission fraudsters.

In a special bulletin released by the university, ABU management alerted the public about self-acclaimed admission facilitators who falsely claim they can secure admission for students. These fraudulent individuals often exploit hopeful applicants and their families, extorting significant sums of money under the pretense of offering admission assistance.

“The University Management is in receipt of many complaints from the victims of admission frauds in the past, reliving their sad experiences,” the statement revealed.

The bulletin highlighted how these scammers take advantage of unsuspecting families, an act the institution described as “totally unacceptable.”

To address this growing concern, ABU advised prospective students to avoid dealing with anyone who claims they can facilitate admissions for a fee. “While urging the prospective students to report to the University authorities anybody demanding money to facilitate their admission,” the statement read, the management assured that its security personnel are actively working with other agencies to apprehend those involved in these fraudulent activities.
