As part of activities to mark the 2020 International Children’s Day, the Ovie Brume Foundation (OBF) supported about 1000 children with food and educational materials.

Children’s Day is marked in Nigeria on every 27th May. Around the world, governments, non-profits, private sector and individuals use the day recognise the plight of children and make genuine efforts to improve their welfare and education.

The OBF in a statement made available to EduCeleb.com said it did its philanthropic gesture in partnership with Child Protection Network between 27th and 28th May.

Beneficiaries of the welfare package were indigent children in Eti-Osa, Surulere, Ibeju-Lekki, and Kosofe, Local Government Areas of Lagos state.

“To make the day memorable, the Foundation supported 1,000 children with nutritional support to cushion the effect of COVID -19 on families and educational materials to promote continuous learning,” the statement read in part.

“Also, members of the Ovie Brume Foundation Youth Centre did a write-up on what Children’s Day means to them which was featured on the social media.

“The 2-day activities offered an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote and celebrate children’s rights, translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for children.”
