The Executive Secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), Dr. Iyela Ajayi, has praised the National Examination Council (NECO) for successfully conducting the 2024 Senior Secondary Examination Certificate (SSCE) without any incidents of malpractice.

This commendation was made during Ajayi’s supervisory visits to several schools in Abuja, including Model Secondary School, Maitama; Federal Government College, Apo; and Funtaj International School, Gudu, while the exams were being conducted.

In a statement by NSSEC’s Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Fatima Ahmed Bappare, Ajayi expressed his confidence in NECO’s ability to maintain the integrity of the examinations.

He stated, “Judging from the good conduct I witnessed during the supervision, NECO certificates can be accepted both nationally and internationally.”

Ajayi urged NECO to continue maintaining high standards to improve the credibility of Nigerian examinations internationally.

He also extended condolences to Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the people of Plateau State following the tragic school building collapse in Jos that resulted in the deaths of students during an examination.

The NECO Supervisor at Model Secondary School, Maitama, Mrs. Rachael Ekukuje, confirmed that the examination process was conducted smoothly and without any issues.
