Abia, Ondo schools’ resumption date announced

The Abia State Government has announced that 2020/2021 Academic Session will officially begin on Monday 2nd November, 2020 for all public and private nursery, primary and secondary schools in the State.

This was contained in a release signed by the State Commissioner for Education, D. KCK Nwangwa and made available to EduCeleb.com on Thursday.

According to the statement, all school heads and proprietors were reminded that they must ensure that all the COVID-19 protocols put in place in their schools are maintained and updated where there is need to do so.

“The process of admission of all new students must comply with the guidelines earlier announced,” it concluded.

In the same vein, Ondo state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Femi Agagu in a statement on Thursday said:

“Mr Governor has directed that all schools should resume on Monday 2nd November 2020 now that the State has become peaceful.

“Parents and the public are to note this directive and all schools are to comply.”

EduCeleb.com also reported that the Lagos State government also announced the reopening of schools after the violence that greeted the #EndSARS protests have been doused.

The government advised schools to ensure that the academic activities continue unhindered till the end of the term after it resumes on 2nd November.

This academic programmes had earlier been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown for over six months.
