2800 teachers denounce membership of NUT

About 2,800 teachers in Niger State wants to denounced their membership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT).

2089 altogether filed a membership withdrawal forms at the State Ministry of Education, in addition to 717, who had done so earlier.

Executive Director, Peoples Right Advocacy for Social Justice, Abubakar Idris said the teachers are will join another unnamed union, due to what he termed NUT’s unfair treatment of them.

“A development we can no longer be tolerated,” Idris who served as representative of the teachers said.

He said all legally means would be adopted to ensure that the voice of aggrieved teachers was heard.
