A student of Riyad Saliheen College Olambe, Nurudeen-Odewunmi Abdullah Olabanji, has set a new academic record in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring an outstanding 326.
Abdullah, the current Head Boy for the 2025/2026 academic session, surpassed the previous record of 321 set by former Head Girl, Azeezah Abdulkabir, during the 2024/2025 session.
New Benchmark for Excellence
His performance establishes a new high-water mark for the school and reinforces its growing reputation for academic excellence.
Staff members described Abdullah as a disciplined and highly focused student whose commitment to his studies has consistently stood out.
Leadership Meets Academic Excellence
Beyond academics, his achievement highlights the link between leadership and performance, as he combines his role as Head Boy with exceptional academic output.
The previous record holder, Azeezah Abdulkabir, had set a strong benchmark that inspired other students within the school community.
A senior staff member noted:
“This is a reflection of what positive competition can achieve. One leader inspires another to do better.”
Culture of Healthy Competition
The school emphasised that Abdullah’s success reflects a sustained culture of excellence, where successive student leaders build on the achievements of their predecessors.
With a score of 326, Abdullah not only rewrites his school’s record books but also positions himself among Nigeria’s top UTME performers for 2026. It demonstrates how structured academic environments and peer-driven motivation can yield outstanding results.
