“Our job is to create an environment that enables both staff and students to excel. UNIZIK is a public university owned by the Federal Government, and we are driving a mindset of productivity across all areas,” Ikechebelu stated.
He noted that the institution has tackled challenges such as vandalism and electricity costs, ensuring a steady power supply through strategic partnerships. The university currently receives N80 million to N100 million in electricity bills, a burden it has managed through collaboration with service providers.
Enhanced Security and Digitalization
To address security concerns, the university has strengthened internal security against vandalism and scrap scavengers. Additionally, many institutional activities have been digitized to improve efficiency and transparency.
“We have digitalized most of our activities, and this has improved productivity. UNIZIK is back to its good times,” the VC assured.
Ongoing Development Projects
Ikechebelu also highlighted various ongoing construction projects on campus aimed at improving academic and student life.
With 8,157 graduates, strategic infrastructural advancements, and the recognition of notable personalities, UNIZIK continues to reaffirm its position as a leading institution of higher learning in Nigeria.
