UNIBEN grad raped, murdered after clearance

A 22-year-old graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) identified as Glory Idowu, has been allegedly beaten, r@ped, and murdered in the Iyowa community area of Benin, the Edo State capital.

Glory was said to have left home for the institution for her clearance on Thursday, June 13, 2024 but returned lifeless after her remains were dropped close to her parent’s house.

An X user #softbaba24, who claims to be her brother revealed this in a series of tweet on his X handle on Monday, June 17.

He wrote: “Justice for my younger sister Adekolure Idowu Glory, who was raped and killed in lyowa community, Benin, Edo State on her way back from school (UNIBEN). She went for her clearance and her corpse dropped close to her mother’s house.

“Help us seek justice for my kid sister that just graduated from the University of Benin in April 2024 and still processing her projects and clearance and was raped to death on her way back from school on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at just 22 years.

“Her lifeless body has been deposited at UBTH mortuary on 15/6/24 with the help of the Nigeria Police from Ekiadolor Division. She was beaten, raped, and killed. Please Nigerians, come to my rescue. The help I need now is just for my innocent sister, my mum can’t hold herself.

The police is yet to officially confirm this tragedy as at press time.
