Osinbajo to deliver LASU convocation lecture

Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo would be delivering the convocation lecture at the Lagos State University (LASU) on 16th May, 2019.

With the theme, “Africa Centres of Excellence in African Universities: A veritable catalyst for nation building and development”, the event would be chaired by former President of Ghana, John Mahama.

The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun disclosed this on Thursday at a press briefing to mark the commencement of the 23rd Convocation Ceremonies of the institution.

The lecture would hold at the University Auditorium Complex in Ojo from 9am.

Other events lined up for the 7-day ceremonies include the Convocation Cup Competition between 8th and 10th May, the Jumat Service on 10th May, and a special thanksgiving service on 12th May.

The ceremonies continue on 13th May, 2019 with the Coconut Breaking Festival followed by a Convocation Play on 14th May.

First degrees and diplomas would be awarded on 15th May while postgraduate degrees would be awarded on the same day as the lecture.
