The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) is one of the teacher training institutions in Nigeria. Its offices are in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
This specialised tertiary institution was established in 1980 to prepare additional workforce for the teaching profession.
Today, NTI runs academic programmes that lead to the award of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). Also, it has degree and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) programmes affiliated with various institutions across the country.
Note that its programmes are accredited the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and the National Universities Commission (NUC).
At the end of each of the programmes, products are eligible to apply for registration and licence with the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Lectures hold every academic session at each of the over 500 NTI study centres across Nigeria.
