Major reshuffling of officers happens at Federal Ministry of Education

The Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria has witnessed a major reshuffling of roles some of its officials, EduCeleb.com has learnt.

This is as the Education Minister, Mr Adamu Adamu, reportedly approved the redeployment of 11 directors and principals of unity colleges.

Official sources said it was to “strengthen service delivery and fill existing vacancies”.

The spokesperson for the ministry, Ben Goong revealed that with some officials retiring, Mr Adamu had determined their replacements.

As Mrs Lami Amodu who is the Director, Basic and Secondary Education Department retires on 14th October, she would be replaced by Mrs Abdulkadir Binta who is the Principal, Federal Government College (FGC) Kwali.

Also, the Principal, Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC) Yaba, Dr Ufoegbune Ogochukwu was moved to the ministry as Director, Federal Education Quality Assurance Services (FEQAS), while Mr David Idakwoji Omada of the Federal Science and Technical College, Uromi, would replace Dr Ogochukwu.

Dr Oyinloye Yakubu of Queens’ College, Lagos, would take over from Mrs Esther Akamo as the principal, Federal Government Girls’ College, Shagamu, while Dr Funmi Essien of the Federal Government College, Ijanikin would replace Dr Yakubu.

Mrs Akamo would succeed Dr Essien as the principal, Federal Government College, Ijanikin, while Mrs Asmau Yakubu Abdullahi of the ministry’s Tertiary Education Department would replace Mr Manko Kudu, who would retire from service on 6th September, as the principal, Federal Government Academy, Suleja.

Mrs Ufuoma Omu Stella Maris, Principal, Federal Government Girls College, Bwari, who would retire from service on 10th November, would be replaced by Mrs Jumai Binta Sodangi of the Federal Government Girls College, Abaji.

Also, Mrs Ifeoma Scholastica Offonkasi, Vice Principal, FGBC, Apo, would replace Binta as the principal, Federal Government Girls’ College, Abaji.

Mr Dahiru Shehu of Federal Science and Technical College, Kafanchan, would take over from Mrs Binta Abdulkadir as the principal, Federal Government College, Kwali, while Mrs Florence Oguah of the National Commission for UNESCO (NATCOM-UNESCO) was elevated to the position of secretary-general.
