JAMB sets deadline for 2017/2018 admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced the deadline for the 2017/2018 admissions exercise.

The candidate ranking body stated that the deadline for the 2017/2018 academic session admission exercise is on 15th January, 2018 for public institutions, while that of private institutions ends on 31st January, 2018.

JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, who made the announcement during the technical meeting on 2017 admissions to first choice institutions at Bayero University Kano (BUK), said that it was imperative for all Vice Chancellors, Rectors and Provosts to abide by the agreement and ensure its implementation.

Speaking during the meeting, Oloyede warned that no name of candidate must emanate from any other source outside the list prepared and recommended by the tertiary institutions.

He said, “The Senate or Academic Board of each institution has the prerogative of admitting candidates to their respective institutions subject, of course, only to national policies which include guidelines stipulated by the proprietors of the institutions, 60:40 (Science/Art) ratio for Conventional Universities, 80:20 (Science/Art) ratio for Non-Conventional Universities, 70:30 (Technology/Non-Technology) ratio for National Diploma Awarding Institutions, Use of 2016 JAMB UTME results printouts for all candidates who scored 180 and above, among others.”
