The Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Special Taskforce Unit on Wednesday, alerted students and members of the public on new techniques used by bandits and informants to kidnap members of the public for ransom

This was contained in a statement on Wednesday, issued by the head, Taskforce unit, Mallam Zubairu.

Zubairu said, “We have been informed about the latest kidnapping technique adopted by kidnappers in Kaduna State.”

“They (bandits) give out Sharon vehicles to some of their accomplices which are used to load passengers and deliver the innocent passengers directly to the kidnappers in bushes around our major highways.

“The reward is, if any driver delivers 2 trips of passengers to the kidnappers, the Sharon automatically belongs to him.”

The statement further advised members of the public to always apply caution when travelling through the Kaduna-Zaria, Kaduna-Abuja and Kaduna-Kachia roads.

“Do not travel when it’s late (evening or night) especially if you are going through the Kachia road or going to Abuja, make sure you board from a designated or government-approved motor park. ”

“Do not enter pick and drop vehicles, fill the passenger manifesto (sic) before you enter any car if it’s not provided. If non-available, ask for one or drop from the vehicle.
