ATAP gets NBTE accreditation for crime management diploma

The Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP), Bauchi State, has been granted accreditation to run two new programmes in National (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Crime Management and Control.

With this approval given by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the state polytechnic becomes the only polytechnic in the federation to award Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Crime Management and Control.

Addressing newsmen in Bauchi, on Thursday, the Registrar of the 32-year-old polytechnic, Abdullahi Adamu, disclosed that the new programmes would expose students to the nature and dimension of crimes, especially the mode and the possible preventive measures against crimes.

The Registrar, who commended NBTE for approving the institution.

In his words, “We are the only institution granted such approval out of the 112 existing polytechnics nationwide.

“We are proud to be the pioneer institute to begin these courses nationwide.”

The Registrar emphasized that the institution would not compromise on its standards, saying applicants must obtain five O’level credits that include English Language and Mathematics.
