At-Tawheed Model Schools in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has recorded exceptional success in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with nine of its students scoring above 300—an achievement that has stood out nationwide in a year marred by mass failure across the country.

The students, all of whom are between 15 and 17 years old, include:

The school’s remarkable performance comes at a time when the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) reported that over 78 percent of candidates nationwide scored below 200.

Celebrating the feat, one of the school’s former staff members and Mathematics teacher, Sulaimon Yasir Abiola, who taught most of the students in their SSS1 and SSS2 classes before relocating to Abuja, took to Facebook to express his joy.

Life is a journey. On this journey to make a lasting impact, I owe immense gratitude to this great citadel of learning in Ado-Ekiti—At-Tawheed Model Schools—for the opportunity to contribute to the academic and moral growth of its learners,” he wrote.

He reflected on his experience at the school, noting its emphasis on discipline and zero tolerance for examination malpractice. He also fondly recalled the students mimicking his frequent classroom phrase: “Quoting from page… of the Simplified Basic Mathematics.”

“It is on record that I had the privilege of teaching these learners Mathematics during their SSS1 and SSS2 years,” he added. “I heartily congratulate these exceptional learners on this remarkable feat. May Allah continue to guide their path to excellence.”

At-Tawheed Model Schools continues to grow in reputation as one of the foremost private institutions in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large, combining sound academic training with Islamic moral upbringing under the motto “Building Sane Creed.”

This year’s UTME results have been a source of celebration for the school community and a bright spot amid national concerns about declining academic performance.
