9000 pass as Oyo releases teachers’ recruitment CBT results

The Oyo State Post Primary School Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has officially released the results of the Computer-Based Tests (CBT) conducted for candidates who applied for teaching positions within the state’s secondary schools. Approximately 9,000 candidates successfully passed the CBT examination.

Announcing the development, TESCOM Chairman, Mr Akinade Alamu, stated that the Commission has established a minimum cut-off mark of 50 percent for candidates to qualify for the next stage of the recruitment process. The successful candidates will proceed to interview sessions scheduled to commence on August 14, 2024.

Alamu disclosed that the interview process would be conducted by ten panels, each comprising five members, including both serving and retired Permanent Secretaries. He advised candidates to check their results by logging into their designated portals, where the results have already been posted.

Reaffirming the Commission’s dedication to improving educational services in Oyo State, Alamu outlined the interview schedule for various subjects:

  • August 14, 2024: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geography
  • August 15, 2024: English, Physics, Health Education, Technical Drawing, Music, and French
  • August 16, 2024: Basic Science, Home Economics, Computer Science
  • August 19, 2024: Commerce, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies, Literature in English, and Guidance and Counseling
  • August 20, 2024: Social Studies, Business Studies, and Food and Nutrition
  • August 21, 2024: Economics, Government, Finance and Account, Fine Arts, and History
  • August 22, 2024: Agricultural Science, Yoruba, and Arabic

He urged all candidates to bring along their credentials, local government of origin certificates, birth certificates, and other relevant documents to their interview sessions.

This recruitment exercise is part of Oyo State’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education by ensuring that qualified and competent teachers are employed to meet the needs of the state’s secondary schools.
