The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results for the 2024 Second Series of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates.
According to a statement by Moyosola Adesina, Acting Head of Public Affairs, 43,923 candidates (67.55%) obtained credit and above in at least five subjects. Among them, 34,878 candidates (53.64%) secured credit and above in five subjects, including English and Mathematics. This marks a 9.35% improvement compared to 2022 (42.16%) and 2023 (44.29%) results.

- Fully Processed Results: 62,354 (95.90%)
- Withheld Results (Exam Malpractice Cases): 2,577 (3.96%)
- Candidates Awaiting Results Due to Submission Errors: 2,669 (4.10%)
The examination was conducted using both paper-based and computer-based formats across 5,067 centres nationwide.
WAEC urged candidates whose results were withheld to visit the WAEC Notice of Examination Malpractice Portal to appeal their cases. The council reaffirmed its commitment to fairness and transparency in its examination process, ensuring all candidates, including those with special needs, receive necessary support.
Candidates can now check their results on the WAEC official portal using their exam registration details.
