The Lagos State Examinations Board has successfully completed the 2025 Trade Test across approved centres in the state, with officials expressing satisfaction over the conduct of the exercise and the quality of participation.
The monitoring team included the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, and the Registrar/Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr Orunsolu Adebayo, who visited examination centres to ensure full compliance with standards of transparency, fairness, and excellence set by the state government.
During the inspection, the officials observed practical assessments in trades including tailoring, hairdressing, catering, graphic design, and other vocational skills.
Mrs Dokunmu-Adegbite commended the Board for its efficient coordination and professionalism. She also praised the artisans for their dedication, emphasising that vocational skills remain central to Lagos State’s youth empowerment and job-creation agenda.
“Trade Test certification boosts technical competence and opens opportunities in both local and international labour markets,” she noted, urging candidates to remain diligent and committed to continuous improvement.
Also speaking, Mr Adebayo expressed appreciation for the Permanent Secretary’s support and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to upholding integrity, excellence, and service in all examinations conducted under its supervision.
The completion of the 2025 Trade Test, the Board said, reflects the Lagos State Government’s commitment to strengthening technical and vocational education in order to build a skilled and self-reliant workforce.
