The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has ordered CBT Centres not to allow parents and guardians of candidates into the registration hall.
JAMB spokesman in Ilorin Office, Hassan Lawal, said Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar issued the order.
The development followed Oloyede’s inspection of some overcrowded registration centres in Kwara.
JAMB stated that the parents and guardians are a distraction to candidates, the centres, and are not observing the COVID-19 protocols.
Oloyede further advised them to stop pushing their children than necessary.
“For example, a 14 or 15-year-old is not matured enough to undergo the process of registration and university pressure and are vulnerable to exploitation by scammers,” he said.
Oloyede advised states and stakeholders in the education sector to always ascertain the students’ true age before admittance into secondary schools.
