Some yet to be identified persons have stolen examination scripts at Ncheka Primary School in Mambwe District, Zambian police say.
They were believed to have done so between 5pm on 23rd November and 7:30am on 25th November, 2018.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Luckson Sakala disclosed that the police did not have any clue about the people who might have committed the crime.
Reports say unknown people broke into the Deputy Head Teacher’s office at Ncheka Primary School and stole written grade nine examination papers and answer sheets on that day.
Mr Sakala said Ncheka Primary School Head Teacher, Chiwamila Daka reported the matter to Mambwe police station.
Four pupils and a guard were however arrested by the police in connection to that “to help with investigations.”
The police chief said the police in Mambwe have given police bonds to the five arrested in connection with the theft of examination scripts last month.
Sakala explained that the thieves stole the scripts by drilling a hole from one of the classrooms into the Deputy Headteacher’s office strong room where the papers were kept.
He said the thieves went away with all the written grade nine examination papers including maths, answer sheets which were written on Friday, 23rd November 2018.
