UNILORIN, ACU issue notice on resumption

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has said that staff members would resume late January 2021.

This is as it directed all staff to work from home henceforth.

It gave further directives in a circular released and dated Tuesday, 29th December, 2020.

“Sequel to the circular of the National Universities Commission Ret. No. NUC/ES/138/Vol.63/151 of 23 December, 2020 directing a compulsory stay at home for non-essential workers from CONTISS 11, CONUASS 04 and below,” the circular read in part.

In complying with that, the management has directed in compliance said all staff on those salary scales should stay and work from home for a period of five weeks, with effect from Wednesday December, 2020 to Wednesday, 27h January, 2021.

It added that they are not expected to embark on any journey without permission.

“However, it should be noted that any staff could be called upon if their services are deemed necessary,” it added.

“Staff are expected to resume duty on Thursday, 28 January, 2021 except otherwise instructed.

“The various heads of essential Units should arrange a working schedule with their staff that will ensure the continuous operation of such offices.

“Other officers who will be at work are strongly advised to adhere strictly to announced safety regulations by W.H.O. and maintain a high regime of personal hygiene

“In addition and in line with the directives of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, all activities, involving large crowds (e.g. classrooms, hostel accommodation, conferences and seminars), should be suspended, whilst the universites remain closed during this intervening period, pending further irectives by the Federal Government on the reopening of schools.

ACU puts resumption on hold indefinitely

The management of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) has issued a notice on resumption for newly admitted and returning students.

A notice released by the management notified all students, parents, and guardians that the resumption that was announced for 3rd January 2021 for returning students and 5th January 2021 for fresh students has been put on hold till further notice.

This is in compliance with the directives of the NUC.

“However, students should watch out for updates on resumption on the University website on a daily basis,” it added.
