The governing councils of the two public universities in Lagos, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Lagos State University (LASU) have approved the appointments of new registrars for the two institutions. That of LASU also appointed a new bursar for the institution.
In separate meetings on Thursday, EduCeleb.com gathered that the councils considered the appointments following the expiration of the tenure of current office holders.
In UNILAG, the incoming Registrar is Ismaila Oladejo Azeez. He is currently Secretary/Director of Administration at the College of Medicine at UNILAG.
He had previously served as Deputy College Secretary (General Administration) at the College.
Mr Azeez is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and several other professional bodies.
His appointment would take effect from Wednesday, 1st August, 2018.
For LASU, its Council approved Mohammed Olayinka Amuni as the new Registrar and Said Babatunde Olayinka as Bursar.
Spoksperson of LASU, Ademola Adekoya revealed that the 118th Statutory Meeting of the Council considered the reports of the Joint Selection Board on the appointments of Registrar and Bursar, and approved the recommendations of the two (2) Joint Selection Board.
Until their appointments, the duo of Mr Amuni and Mr Olayinka were the Deputy Registrar Academic Staff Establishment and the Director, Internal Audit respectively.
The appointment of the new Principal Officers in this case is with immediate effect.
