The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has issued a warning regarding a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating the acting vice-chancellor, Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi.

The fake profile, which has been set up to deceive and defraud unsuspecting individuals, is causing significant concern within the university community.

The fraudulent account, found at https://web.facebook.com/aisha.maikudi.2024, has been flagged for attempting to mislead the public.

The university administration has cautioned that any business or transactions conducted with the owner of this fake account are done at the individual’s own risk.

To clarify, the official and authentic Facebook account of Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi is https://web.facebook.com/aisha.maikudi, which currently has only 291 friends.

The university urges members of the community to verify this information before engaging with any social media account claiming to represent the vice-chancellor.

In a statement on Thursday, the Directorate of Information and University Relations emphasized the importance of vigilance.

“We caution that whoever engages in any business or transaction with the fraudulent account owner does so at their own risk.”
