A don at the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has won a fellowship for the Faculty Exchange Programme hosted by the University of Georgia, Athens, United States of America.
The fellow is Dr Lateef Ariyo Adeniran, a lecturer in the Department of Physiology/ Biochemistry, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at UNIABUJA.
He would be spending the first half of 2023 at the host institution,
The programme, which takes place between 10th January and 3rd May 2023, will focus on giving hands-on knowledge in four strategic areas of international trade and regulatory systems, animal health, clinical medicine and disease surveillance, post-harvest and food safety, and curriculum development.
Adeniran is expected to develop a working model of the interconnectivity of academic pedagogy and state /federal agriculture regulatory practices and certification that relate to safe trade between Nigeria and USA.
The reciepient expressed gratitude to the leadership of the university under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah.
He said he was also excited working with his dean, “Professor O.C. Jegede, and his mentors, Prof. O.P. Ajagbonna, Prof O.A. Olafadehan and Prof E. A. Iyayi for supporting and preparing me for the grant interview.”
The associate professor of Medicinal Biochemistry, who assured his students at UNIABUJA that he would continue to be in touch with them through virtual lectures, said he was determined to make the University proud by representing it well.
