Tinubu appoints new TETFund Board, school feeding boss

In a significant move to bolster Nigeria’s educational sector, President Bola Tinubu has appointed new members to the board of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and a new Programme Manager for the National Home-Grown School Feeding initiative.

These appointments are part of a broader strategy to enhance the quality and reach of education in Nigeria.

New Board for TETFund

President Tinubu has approved the following individuals to serve on the TETFund board, with a mandate to drive the fund’s mission of providing essential support to tertiary education:

  4. Mr. Nurudeen AdeyemiMember

The President expects these members to exhibit dedication and commitment to enhancing the productivity and quality of higher education through TETFund’s initiatives.

Leadership for Home Grown School Feeding Programme

In a bid to improve the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, Princess Aderemi Adebowale has been appointed as the Programme Manager.

She brings a wealth of experience and academic credentials, including:

  • Qualifications: Doctorate degree.
  • Previous Roles: Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement; Former Local Government Chairperson.

Princess Adebowale’s appointment aims to strengthen the programme’s impact on students’ nutritional needs and educational outcomes across Nigeria.

Other Key Appointments in the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry

President Tinubu also announced appointments for key positions within the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, ensuring comprehensive leadership across various initiatives:

  1. Dr. Badamasi LawalChief Executive Officer, National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA)
  • Qualifications: Doctorate in Education.
  • Previous Role: Commissioner in Katsina State.
  1. Ms. Funmilola OlotuProgramme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office
  • Qualifications: Master’s in Business Administration.
  • Previous Role: Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on State Lotteries.
  1. Ms. Aishat AlubankudiProgramme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Community Development.
  • Experience: Risk Assessor and Financial Manager.
  1. Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan ImamProgramme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Accountancy.
  • Experience: Chief Accountant at Northern Dairies Ltd; Former Bank Manager.
  1. Mr. Ayuba GufwanExecutive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities
  • Qualifications: LLB.
  • Role: Executive Director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos.

  • Qualifications: Master’s in Public Administration.
  • Previous Roles: Secretary-General of ALGON; Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministries of Health and Women Affairs and Social Development.
