Students and staff members of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife are set to resume the 2019/2020 session in February.
This is following the approval of a modified school calendar by the university’s senate on Wednesday.
In addition, the Senate approved cancellation of 2020/2021 Academic Session.
The school has been shut since last March partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the nine month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
EduCeleb.com gathered that for the past ten months, students in the federal school have not been engaged in any academic activity unlike their peers elsewhere.
The federal government had earlier approved 18th January as resumption date for schools but it would take another three weeks before students at OAU get to class.
Final year students in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Clinical Students in the College of Health Sciences and year four (4) students in the Faculty of Agriculture would be physically taught.
These students were to be on campus or places of residence on 7th February, 2021.
All other students are to attend their classes virtually from 8th February, 2021 when lectures resume.
“The approved resumption programme is subject to periodic review in line with the realities and trend of the COVID-19 pandemic,” the university said.
The university management also emphasised strict adherence to the various safety protocols to prevent community transmission of COVID-19.For information on Press Releases, Photos, Promotional Events and Adverts, Please Call or Send a Text to 09052129258, 08124662170 or send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
