The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the timetable for the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admission into Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) of Federal Unity Colleges across Nigeria.
The notice was signed by Hajara Ali, Director of Registration at NECO.
According to the schedule, the examination is set to hold on Saturday, 14th June, 2025. Activities will commence at 7:30am with the validation of candidates, marking of attendance, and sanitisation, lasting until 9:30am. This will be followed by the issuance of customised OMR answer sheets for Paper I from 9:30am to 9:40am, and then the distribution of Paper I question papers from 9:40am to 9:50am.
Paper I, scheduled from 9:50am to 12:00noon, will feature:
- Part A: Mathematics and Basic Science & Technology
- Part B: English Studies and National Values Education
A break and sanitisation session will follow from 12:00noon to 12:55pm.
The issuance of OMR sheets for Paper II will begin at 12:55pm, with question papers distributed between 1:05pm and 1:15pm. Paper II, running from 1:15pm to 2:35pm, will consist of:
- Part A: Quantitative and Vocational Aptitude
- Part B: Verbal Aptitude
NECO also provided important instructions for candidates. It stated that where the time on the question paper differs from the timetable, the time on the question paper must be strictly adhered to. Furthermore, albino and blind candidates are to be granted an additional 30 minutes for each paper. Blind candidates are required to use NECO-supplied OBR customised braille sheets.
The use of scientific calculators, programmable calculators, mobile phones, iPads, tablets, smartwatches/glasses/pens and similar electronic communication gadgets is strictly prohibited within the examination hall. However, the use of simple calculators is permitted.
