The National Examinations Council (NECO) has postponed the 2020 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into Federal Unity Colleges indefinitely over coronavirus fears.
The examination which was scheduled to hold, on Saturday, 28th March 2020 has been postponed indefinitely.
The Head of Information Department, Azeez Sani, in a statement, made available to EduCeleb.com, said the decision to postpone the examination was in line with the various measures being put in place by the Federal and State Governments to lessen the potential spread of CoronaVirus.
“This decision is in line with the various measures being put in place by the Federal and State Governments to curtail the potential spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19).
“The Management of NECO regrets any inconveniences the postponement might have caused our esteemed candidates and other Stakeholders.”
The statement stated that a new date for the examination will be communicated to candidates and other stakeholders in due course, adding that registration for the examination continues.
So far, Nigeria has recorded 46 cases of the pandemic virus, Coronavirus.
The pandemic has spread to over 200 countries and social distancing has been emphasised as a way to reduce its spread.
