Alumni members of the Lagos State University (LASU) on Monday donated some internet equipment to the university. The Alumni members based in the United States of America and Canada did so during a visit to the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room, at the Main Campus, Ojo.
A press statement by the Coordinator of the Ademola Adekoya sent to EduCeleb.com indicated that the Alumni was represented by Adeolu Sanyaolu.
Mr Sanyaolu is an Alumnus of the University residing in Canada. He presented the set of Wireless Internet Solution Equipment to the University on behalf of the LASU Alumni USA and Canada branch.
Mr Adekoya quoted Mr Sanyaolu as saying that the equipment will provide uninterrupted internet service to designated areas in the University Campus.
Beyond the donation, the 1993 graduate of Electronics and Computer Engineering promised to organize a five day training for all Staff of the University who will directly use the equipment.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Olanrewaju Fagbohun thanked the Alumni body for the equipment. He said the University was very appreciative of what they have done.
Professor Fagbohun was quoted as saying the donation was timely. In his words, “these equipment has come at a time when the University needed them and I can assure you that we will make good use of them in such a way that you will be happy that you have done this. ”
Other members of the University Management at the brief presentation event were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Olumuyiwa Noah, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Oyedamola Oke, Registrar, Mr Lewis Akinwunmi Oladapo, Bursar, Mr Adetayo Hassan and the University Librarian, Dr Adebambo Oluwole. Also present were the Deputy Registrar at the VC’s Office, Mrs Anat Adesunkanmi, Principal Assistant Registrar, VC’s Office, Mr Wale Anthony, Coordinator, CIPPR, Mr Ademola Adekoya and SAR, VCO, Mr Olorunfemi.
