Lagos State University (LASU) is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its alumna, Modupe Aminat Abass-Tijani, who has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 and recipient of the prestigious Alumni Award at Canada’s Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC).
From LASU to Global Recognition
Aminat, who earned a Diploma in International Affairs and Strategic Studies (Upper Credit, 2001/2002) and a B.Sc. in Economics (Second Class Honours, Upper Division, 2008/2009) from LASU, continued her academic journey in Canada.
In June 2025, she graduated with honours from NSCC as an Information Technology Generalist, showcasing her versatility and commitment to lifelong learning.
Exemplary Leadership and Service
During her time at NSCC, Aminat distinguished herself through:
✅ Wellness Champion: Spearheading mental health awareness initiatives for students and staff.
✅ Peer-Assisted Learning Support (PALS): Mentoring students in IT-related courses across campuses.
✅ Enactus Ambassador: Representing Atlantic Canada and NSCC at the national exposition in Toronto after her team’s regional victory in Halifax.
Her selection as Valedictorian recognized her as the voice of her graduating class, while the Alumni Award celebrated her embodiment of NSCC’s values of excellence, ambassadorship, and community pride.
