Kwara govt appoints Akanbi as KWASU VC

The Kwara State government has announced Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi as the new Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete.

Akanbi was until his appointment, on Wednesday, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin.

The new Vice-Chancellor is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria with over two decades experience in academics and the legal profession.

Kwara State government said it accepted the recommendation of the Governing Council of the institution.

A statement signed by state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Hajiya Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, was made available to EduCeleb.com on Wednesday.

It reads in part, “Consequently, on behalf of His Excellency, I hereby announce the immediate appointment of as the new Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Malete.

“I am similarly conveying His Excellency’s approval of the appointment to the Governing Council of the University, today, Wednesday, the 1st day of April 2020.”
