The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed as fake a viral result slip claiming that a candidate scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), cautioning the public against misinformation surrounding examination outcomes.

The purported result, widely shared on social media, indicated near-perfect scores in four subjects, sparking reactions among prospective candidates and education stakeholders.

Reacting to the development, JAMB spokesperson, , said the document did not originate from the board and contained clear irregularities.

“The result is fabricated and did not originate from the Board,” he said, noting that the format of the slip does not match JAMB’s official template.

Benjamin explained that UTME results are currently accessible only through a controlled, view-only system and are not issued in printable formats as depicted in the viral document.

He further pointed out that the registration number on the slip does not conform to JAMB’s standard system-generated structure, describing it as another indication of falsification.

According to him, “multiple inconsistencies on the slip clearly indicate that it is not authentic.”

The examination body urged candidates and the general public to rely solely on official communication channels for accurate information, especially during the sensitive admission period.

The clarification comes amid increasing concerns about the spread of false academic records online, which experts say can mislead candidates and undermine confidence in Nigeria’s examination processes.
