The authorities of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Abia State, have elected Professor Maduebibisi Ofor Iwe as vice-chancellor of the nation’s foremost agricultural institution of higher learning.
Iwe, who is to pilot the affairs of the university in the next five years beginning from March 1, 2021, is a renowned professor of Food Science and Technology.
Prior to his election, he was the university’s’ Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics).
He takes over from Prof. Francis Otunta, the outgoing vice chancellor whose five-year tenure elapses at the end of this month.
Iwe was born on April 7, 1958. He hails from Amuda Isuochi in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
He received his primary education at Isuochi and Ihube in the former Okigwe Division, while his secondary education was at both Boys’ High School Ihube and Government College Afikpo.
