IBBU gets new Vice-Chancellor

Niger State governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, has approved the appointment of Adamu Abu Kasim as the new Vice-Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai.

A statement signed by the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Ibrahim Matane explained that the appointment of Professor Kasim who is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration of the university takes effect from 1st January, 2020.

According to the statement, the appointment of the new Vice-Chancellor was in recognition of his track records of achievements as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration and urged him to bring to bear his wealth of experience over the years to move the citadel to enviable heights.

The statement reads, “Acting on the powers conferred on him by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and the Law establishing IBBU, Lapai No. 8 of 31st March 2005”.

“Section 6 a and 4 a-d, His Excellency, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, the Executive Governor of Niger State has approved your appointment as Vice-Chancellor of the University with effect from 1st January 2020. This appointment is for a single term of five (5) years.”

He urged the new Vice-Chancellor to make full accreditation and physical development of the citadel his priority to ensure speedy transformation of IBB University, Lapai, into a world-class institution.

The governor also enjoined the new VC to replicate and even surpass his previous performance where his records of achievements still stand out.
