The Oke-Ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF) has sought the siting of a campus of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in the Oke Ogun part of the state.

It also commended the state governor for his declaration that LAUTECH will be a multi-campus institution.

The forum described the governor as a goal-getter who deserves commendation for the efforts his administration is making to transform Oyo State.

Recall that Oyo State last week secured full ownership of LAUTECH, which it priorly shared with Osun State based on the National Universities Commission (NUC) intervention.

In a statement signed by the President, Dr. Olusegun Ajuwon, OON, the General Secretary, Mr. Zaccheus Adepoju and the Publicity Secretary of the Forum, Comrade Jare Ajayi, JP, the umbrella body for Oke Ogun people expressed delight at the success that crowned the efforts the governor has been making since his assumption of office for Oyo State to take over the University.

The body prayed that the institution will regain its old glory of being the best state-run university in the country and even go further to becoming one of the best, if not the best, in the country.

“We have the conviction that His Excellency will ensure that some of the Campuses will be in Oke ogun in view of the availability of the wherewithal to sustain such an institution in Oke-Ogun”, the Release added.

In their view, Oke ogun deserves two or three of the campuses in view of the large size of the area as well as the absence of desired multiple higher institutions in the region.

“The umbrella body for Oke ogun people which commended Makinde administration for various developmental projects it is carrying out further enjoined the Governor to continue to run an all-inclusive administration “so that every part of the state and every one in government would have a sense of belonging”.

“The body also lauded the governor for nominating the Sepeteri-born Alhaji Siju Lawal as Commissioner for Works and Transport for the state. Sepeteri is a town in Oke ogun.”
