Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola and Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, are among dignitaries expected to grace the maiden edition of the Lagos State University, (LASU) research fair.
The fair opens on Tuesday, 3rd September and has the theme, “Driving National Development through Research and Innovation”.
LASU Director, Research and Innovation, Olumuyiwa Odusanya revealed that the event would hold at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre, Main Campus and will be an exhibition/celebration of academic excellence.
“The Fair will afford the University opportunity to show how its research activities are advancing knowledge and making impact in the larger society,” Odusanya, a professor said.
He added that Mr Sanwo-Olu who doubles as the Visitor to the University would be the Chairman of the Research Fair while Mr Fashola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Governor of Lagos State would deliver the Keynote address.
“Also, several academic giants are expected at the LASU Research Fair. The Fair has attracted reputable scholars from within LASU and other universities in Nigeria. As LASU expects a large turn-out and welcomes all to the Fair,” he added.
Among other activities lined up include the commissioning of the newly completed Computer-Based Test (CBT) on the LASU main campus by the governor.
