Eleven LASU students shine in national virtual test, receive cash prizes

Eleven students from the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences at Lagos State University (LASU), have distinguished themselves in the recent Mobile Classroom App Nationwide Objectives Virtual Test. The test, designed for tertiary education students, saw these LASU students rank among the Top 20 nationwide in the Business Administration category, earning them significant cash rewards from the organisers, Mobile Classroom Limited.

During the presentation of the winners to the University Management on Friday, October 18, 2024, the founder of the Mobile Classroom App, Mr. Akeem Salami, highlighted that LASU students participated in the Business Administration category of the competition, which also included Political Science, Mass Communication, and Social Sciences. LASU students secured top positions in their category, with the overall winner receiving ₦150,000 and other top 20 performers awarded ₦50,000 each.

The students who made LASU proud were Rufus Oluwole (1st place), Oshinuga Ayomide (3rd), Sodiq Habeeb (4th), Obeng David (5th), Majekodunmi Feranmi (6th), Temitope Esther (7th), Abdulrokeeb Ojo (8th), Babalola Lawal (9th), Ayat Aliu (13th), Abdul-Qudus Ibrahim (14th), Hunkokoe Sewanu (15th), and Emmanuel Ajose (16th).

Dr. Ayomide Elegunde, a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration who facilitated the virtual training and played a key role in encouraging the participation of LASU students, was also recognized with an Outstanding Lecturer Support Fund, receiving ₦180,000.

Speaking on this achievement, Vice-Chancellor Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Olufunsho Omobitan, expressed her pride in the students and their lecturer, noting that their success reflected the excellence of the university. She also urged the sponsors to consider expanding the program to include more students in future editions.

The event was attended by other university management members, faculty deans, and media representatives.
