In a move to strengthen academic collaboration and foster growth, Dominican University, Ibadan, and the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) are exploring a partnership focused on knowledge exchange and capacity building.

This potential collaboration was discussed during a courtesy visit by the Vice Chancellor of Dominican University, Professor Jacinta Opara, and her team to the leadership of NISLT. Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Opara emphasized the importance of the partnership, noting the proximity of both institutions and their shared objectives.

Prof. Opara highlighted the university’s desire to partner with NISLT in developing knowledge and facility exchange programs that would benefit both academic staff and students.

She stated, “The exchange program will foster teaching and bolster research,” adding that the initiative could also support the co-authoring of grant proposals by leveraging NISLT’s expertise, thereby increasing the likelihood of securing funding.

The partnership also seeks collaboration in developing the university’s microbiology program, as well as initiatives for public education and enlightenment.

In response, the Registrar and CEO of NISLT, Yemi Hezekiah Gbadegesin, welcomed the proposal for an exchange program and emphasized that knowledge sharing is essential for development. “We are excited about your visit and look forward to collaborating with you,” he remarked.
