The Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has on Monday commenced the verification of the certificates of teaching and non-teaching staff demoted during the 2016/2017 academic session.
The exercise is being supervised by the SUBEB Chairman, Stephen Odeh who had earlier told the affected persons to come to designated venues for the physical verification of both original and photocopies of such fake and the new copies.
“This is to remind all demoted teaching/non teaching staff that have acquired their authentic certificates to appear in person for final verification and authentication of their credentials,” a statement signed by spokesperson to the Cross River SUBEB, Uchino Amatey read.
“It is necessary to emphasize that all the affected staff must appear with their original and photocopies of all their credentials including original/photocopy of the fake statement of result/certificate earlier presented in 2016/2017 Personnel Audit Exercise.”
The Executive Chairman of SUBEB with members of his team saw to the task at the SUBEB headquarters in Calabar in segments.
On Monday, the target local government areas were Akamkpa, Akpabuyo, Bakassi, Biase, Calabar Municipal, Calabar South and Odukpani.
On Tuesday, 19th November, focus would be on Abi, Boki, Etung, Ikom, Obubra, and Yakurr.
Whereas staff from Bekwarra, Obanliku, Obudu, Ogoja, and Yala would have their day on 21st November, 2019.
It is expected that the outcome of the exercise would be made public upon its conclusion.
