An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has granted bail to 12 suspects accused of murdering Jeffrey Akro, an undergraduate student of Ajayi Crowther University. The suspects were granted bail on Friday in the sum of ₦5 million each, with their parents standing as sureties.
The case, presided over by Justice Ladiran Akintola, has been adjourned until Friday, February 21, 2025, for further hearing.
At the last hearing in Awe, Oyo State, the suspects pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge. However, their plea and oral application for bail were deferred, leading to today’s ruling.
Justice Akintola’s decision allows the suspects temporary freedom as the case continues, with stringent bail conditions aimed at ensuring their compliance with court proceedings.
