College of Agricultural Produce Technology Kano gets new provost

The newly appointed acting Provost of the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology Kano Dr Halima Modupeore Alimi has vowed to implore all necessary measures to move the institution to greater height.

Dr Alimi stated this while briefing Journalists in Kano.

She said the new administration was working tirelessly to change the narrative and the image of the college and achieve set objectives.

“Now that we have taken over leadership of the college we will ensure that there is sanity among the staff and students, and also we’ll improve on staff development geared towards ensuring conducive working and learning environment”

The Acting Provost noted that the college was committed to ensuring that the host community benefitted from the college through various programmes that would be introduced to uplift the well being of the General populace.

Alimi explained that the college runs national Diploma and Higher Diploma programmes and admits candidates from all parts of the country.

She appealed to the general poblic especially people residing in Kano to utilize the golden opportunity of having the College in Kano.

“Our mandate is on post harvest science, that’s how to handle Agric produce after harvesting, and this includes storage, preservation, and processing among others, and this is the only school in the country that has this mandate”

It could be recalled that barely two weeks ago the Governing board, provost and registrar of the College were dissolved by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural development Alhaji Sabo Nanono due to leadership crisis that bedeviled the development of the college.
