Authorities at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo have banned its students from driving cars and motorcycles on campus.

College registrar Ms Olufisayo Fakorede, in a circular dated April 15, said the ban was necessary to protect the lives of students and staff of students who drive recklessly.

Fakorede said management had received several complaints from students and staff at the institution about the recklessness of some students which necessitated the ban.

“College management has observed that students who own electric cars and motorcycles drive their cars and ride their electric motorcycles on campus with reckless abandon.

“Management has also received complaints from students and staff about this act of indiscipline.

“As a result, and in order to protect the lives of students and staff, management prohibits students from bringing their electric cars or motorcycles into college premises.

“The ban takes effect immediately,” the registrar said.
