Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, has said there was no loss of life in an accident that occurred on the campus of the institution on Monday.
A 28-second video of an accident scene, where a victim was lying on the road, had surfaced online on Monday evening.
Sources familiar with the situation on the campus disclosed that the scene of the accident in the video was a road leading to Fajuyi Hall on the OAU campus.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the university, Abiodun Olanrewaju, disclosed that no life was lost in the accident, which involved a commercial motorcycle operator and a vehicle.
“I have called one of my workers on the purported video and I have confirmed that nobody died.
“The accident that happened around Fajuyi Hall road is unfortunate but nobody died.
“It was just a minor mishap involving an okada rider and a motorist. The accident was as a result of impatience,” Olanrewaju said.
