The West Africa Examination Council(WAEC), has disclosed that its highest decision making organ, the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) would be reaching a decision on the 2020 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results withheld for exam malpractices.
WAEC tweeted about this on Thursday, adding that the meeting would last for three days.
“The 70th Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) started today and will end on Saturday. The Committee is meeting to decide on the exam malpractice cases arising from the conduct of WASSCE for SC, 2020. Usually, results of candidates found culpable will be cancelled,” it tweeted.
EduCeleb.com had earlier reported that WAEC on 2nd November, withheld the results of 215,149 candidates over allegations of malpractice.
It had noted that the fate of those results would be determined after conclusion of investigation.
This means that the fate of candidates whose chances of using such result to seek entry into higher institutions would be sealed after the meeting.
