Sanwo-Olu Constitutes 13th Governing Council for Lagos State University

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the constitution of the 13th Governing Council of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and improving educational standards in state-owned tertiary institutions.

The announcement, contained in a statement issued by LASU’s Centre for Information and Public Relations, named Mr Babatunde Ogala, SAN, as Chairman of the newly constituted Council.

Other members of the Council include:Mr Oluseyi Badmus, Mr Bode Makanjuola, Mrs Mojisola Tolagbe Taiwo, Prof. Shaffudeen Amuwo, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti, Ms Kofo Durosimi-Etti, Dr Farouk Gumel, Mrs Adenike Akanbi, Mr Biodun Hundeyin, and Dr Remi Desalu

The appointments take effect from Friday, 31 October 2025.

In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, congratulated the Council members on their appointment and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the institution’s development.

She noted that the University looks forward to working closely with the Council to advance its strategic goals and sustain its reputation for academic excellence.

“LASU remains committed to continuous growth, innovation, and the highest standards of institutional governance,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.
