The Oyo State government has announced that the job portal for recruiting public primary school teachers will open at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

Dr. Nureni Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), made this disclosure during a briefing at the Board’s headquarters in Ibadan on Tuesday.

Adeniran stated that the recruitment exercise aims to reduce unemployment and enhance the educational sector in the state.

“The government of Oyo State wants to expand the job space in the basic education sub-sector and those who are interested in working as caregivers,” he said.

The portal, accessible at https://subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng, will be used to recruit 7,000 teachers and 100 caregivers. The application period runs from June 25, 2024, to July 9, 2024.

Applicants will need to register with their email, phone number, and National Identification Number, among other requirements.

Dr. Adeniran emphasized that the recruitment process will be transparent, fair, credible, and merit-based, involving an online application, a computer-based test, and an oral interview.

“Education is a major pillar of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration. We are going to have an inclusive government that will utilize valuable potentials that abound in the state, and that’s why we are employing new primary school teachers,” he noted.

He advised applicants to upload all necessary documents and warned them to be cautious of scammers, noting that the only official portal for the application is the one provided.

“Applicants can channel their complaints, or challenges encountered in the process of the online application through the support service to the phone number and email provided on the website for free support services,” he assured.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for his support and commitment to education, pledging that the Board would meet the Governor’s expectations.

“The application process from beginning to end is free of charge. No staff or non-staff person was assigned to collect money from any applicant,” he added.
