Professor Oyedamola Oke has emerged the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of the Lagos State University (LASU).
His emergence came about, following the election held on Friday, 6th October, 2017 at the 3-in-1 Lecture Hall of the LASU Faculty of Science, in Ojo, Lagos.
Professor Oke polled a total of Seventy-Seven (77) votes to emerge winner, while his co-contestant, the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Banji Fajonyomi had a total of Thirty-Nine (39) votes.
With the election conducted, the vacant seat of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) has been filled. The tenure is for two years.
While congratulating Oke for his emergence as the DVC (Admin), the Vice Chancellor of the university, Olanrewaju Fagbohun, said the election was credible and devoid of personal attacks and mudslinging.
“Even the conduct of the two candidates after the result was announced showed that they are men of character, and I am sure they will continue to work together for the institution,” he said.
The former Dean of Science, at LASU, succeeds Professor Fidelis Njokanma of the LASU College of Medicine and is expected to hold the office for a period of two years.
